  • witty title here

So, it is spring semester of my junior year....crazy to think that in just one year from now I will be student teaching.

Life has been crazy so far.  Trying to figure out housing situation for next year and it's just been a stressful process.  On the other hand can't wait to get out our current living situation right now....hopefully next year my roommate and I will have some sense of peace and quiet.

Tau Beta Sigma is going well. We were installed as the Iota Xi Chapter back in October. This month is our first rush/pledge class. I'm in charge of the new membership education so we are starting that process tonight. Should be an interesting 6 weeks.

Next weekend is the TBS District Leadership Conference in Valdosta Georgia...that'll be a fun road trip down from NC....Then the following weekend it the SoCon Basketball Tournament for pep band in Charlotte...I will be a very well traveled person by then!

This feels good to journal/blog...I haven't had the time or will to do so all of last semester....too much work. I'm only taking 19 credits this semester as opposed to my usual 21. So, this semester is a small reprieve from the usual Music Ed insanity....though being 21 now helps to take the edge of that insanity sometimes...tehehe.

my schedule this semester is going to be crazy...I remember how much I hated junior year in high school work load wise and I have the ominous feeling this is going to be the same feeling...except this time no silly calculus. lol. ALL music classes except one education class

    Instrumental and Choral Arranging
    Form and Analysis
    Ancient Throuhg Baroque Music History
    Intro to Music Ed
    Instrumental Methods 1
Meeting Special Learning Needs of Children
    Trumpet Lessons
    Piano Lessons
    Orchestra
    Marching Band

yea, my life is gonna suck this semester.

  • its 2009 and i feel fine

hello everyone (that still reads this crap)

yesterday was my 20th birthday...weird to not be a teenager anymore....i had a lovely birthday. My sorority Tau Beta Sigma- we were finally able to go through our first degree ceremony. It was symbolic/poetic to me. The end of my teenage years and the beginning of my 20's ended/started with the first degree ritual for TBS. So, very appropriate in a way.

winter term is going well. i'm taking sociology through film. its very interesting- sociology that is...if i wasnt a music major and had extra time in my life i would take another sociology course.

i'm def. going on a mission trip to Galveston over spring break...that should be a fun/good learning experience. i'm excited.

thats all i got for now.

GO EAGLES!!!! and 24 season 7 premiere tonight!

I can't believe it is already the end of the semester! Today was the last day of classes. Tomorrow is juries. Should be interesting. I feel like piece juries will go well, but I'm nervous for scale juries.

my schedule for next semester will be wonderful! ONLY 19 credits!!!

Winter term- SOC 131- Sociology through Film

    Spring Semester:
    MUS 212- Music Theory IV
MUS 214- Aural Skills IV  (woot- last semester of Aural!!!)
    MUS 366- Conducting
    MUS 101- Wind Ensemble
    MUS 106- Brass Quintet
    PSY 321- Educational Psych
    HST 324- Ancient Heroes

Ayumi is coming back from Japan to visit over Christmas break! I'm excited to see her. I haven't seen her since the end of junior year. Should be an interesting and fun break!

    hey hey

So, everything has been going well. Soph year is flying by. Midterms are coming up not this week, but next week! Then fall break...
Elon is doing very well in football. I think we're 3-0 in our conference...football playoffs methinks?! Which, would be awesome. Presumably we could ONE day play University of DE....or even UMASS if we continue in the direction we're going. We did our last performance of Guitar Hero show today at the game against Furman. We start learning our new show on Wednesday called "Dance to the Music"

I'm going to Accapellooza tonight- its an a capella festival hosted by Elon- reps from Duke, UMD, UNC Greensboro, and V-Tech are going to be there to perform I think. Should be good.

It's getting soooo close to Election time!! Go Obama and Biden (yay DELAWARE- way to represent). The VP debate the other night was amazing. It was very civil and no interruptions which was great. Have to get my absentee ballot request notarized...hmmm need to get on that.

    Peace.

About Me

  • UA Class of 2007! Now Elon University class of 2011!! I'm a music education major with a trumpet concentration. YAY MUSIC ED! I love to read, listen to music, musicals (RENT, Les Mis, Wicked,Phantom) and watch movies- typical- but that's pretty much all there is to do where I live. I play trumpet in the marching band- i was the brass captain of the Salesianum marching band 06'-07'- now i'm in Elon's Fire of the Carolinas Marching Band, pep band, and brass quintet.
